Reverend Henry McCaskill Jr. served as a Chaplain (Lieutenant Colonel, Retired) and Command Chaplain in the United States Army Reserve for over 15 years. As a Chaplain, he served in Afghanistan, Kuwait, Romania, and Bulgaria. Reverend McCaskill also served as the Lead Joint Force Chaplain for the 57 th Presidential Inauguration. He retired from the Army Reserve in 2020. Reverend McCaskill also served in the United States Air Force for eight years. He is a graduate of the FBI Academy, Quantico, Virginia. After graduation he served as a Special Agent (Retired) for the FBI for 24 years.
Reverend McCaskill is a graduate of Troy University-Europe where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree is Criminal Justice. He attended the University of Colorado-Denver earning a Master of Criminal Justice Administration degree. Reverend McCaskill also attended the Denver Seminary as a Master of Divinity student. Later, he attended Liberty University where he earned a Master of Arts degree in Religious Studies and received a Master of Divinity Equivalency. He has also completed the Doctor of Ministry core courses in Pastoral Counseling at Liberty University.
Reverend McCaskill’s ministry has included providing religious and pastoral support to thousands of military and civilian personnel overseas and throughout the United States. His ministry outreach included supporting four Romanian and Bulgarian orphanages. Reverend McCaskill has served in Associate Pastor positions in both Denver, Colorado and Monroeville, Alabama. Most recently, Reverend McCaskill served as Associate Pastor at the Elizabeth Baptist Church, Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
Reverend McCaskill has a passion for preaching, teaching, and evangelism. He is a contributor to the popular book “Share Jesus Without Fear” by William Fay. He has certifications in suicide prevention, marital, premarital and singles counseling. As an Associate Pastor, Reverend McCaskill established a “Talks My Father Never Had With Me” mentoring program for young Black males in collaboration with the book’s author, Dr. Harold Davis.
Reverend McCaskill’s awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal; Army Meritorious Service Medal; Air Force Meritorious Service Medal; Joint Defense Service Medal; Army Commendation Medal; and others. He is a graduate of the United States Army Chaplain School, Command and General Staff Officers Course, and the Operational Religious Support Leader Course.
Reverend McCaskill is married to Shirley Ann McCaskill. They have two adult children, Henry III (Jessica) and Jalicia. They have five grandchildren: Henry IV, Julian, Olivia, Vivian, and Karter.
